Leading Your Community With Gemma Grey-Hall
For award-winning executive, community leader, Major Gift Officer at the University of Windsor, and women's advocate, Gemma Grey-Hall is all about her community, supporting local businesses, healthcare, and education.
Being actively involved in community work, including being a part of the Women's Enterprise Skills Training, Hack forge, Women Inspiring Action, Black Women of Forward Action, Victoria Order of Nurses, Anti-Black Racism Taskforce with both GECDSB and WECDSB, and the International Association of BIPOC Wine-Makers, Gemma believes her personal success has been because she chooses to lead with excellence and commitment.
"I grew up in Kingston, Ontario, went to University in Ottawa, moved to Windsor on graduation, and lived here ever since," she shares. "I worked towards an MBA with an accounting designation and now have my Certified Fundraising Expert designation."
As a Major Gift Officer at the University of Windsor for the Faculty of Science, Gemma spends her days chatting with alumni to align their philanthropic ideals with projects at the university and the Faculty of Science.
"The Faculty of Science is a place where amazing innovation is taking place," she explains. "We are training the next generation of scientists, leaders, critical thinkers, and entrepreneurs."
Describing herself as perseverant, hard-working, and an active listener, Gemma shares that what empowers her daily life is being a community leader and working to make people's lives better.
