Amityville Horror (1979)
This American supernatural horror film is one for the books. Directed by Stuart Rosenberg and starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder. Newlyweds George and Kathy move into a new home with their three kids on the coast of Long Island without the knowledge that the house they moved in was part of a mass murder, within time the family starts to experience paranormal activity causing them to move away from their new home.
Trick R Treat (2007)
A classic on it's own, a small town finds out what it's like to deal with real ghost and goblins on Halloween. The tales being told helps reveal the consequences the town will face if they blow out a jack-o-lantern before midnight arrives.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
This film tells the tale of Cole Sear, a boy who is able to see and talk to dead people, that is when the family gets a psychologist to help the young boy out and comes to find out it isn't that simple.
The Shining (1980)
The Shining is considered to be one of the most significant films in history, from jump scares, to bloody scenes to "Here's Johnny", this is the perfect movie for this Halloween and every Halloween that is.

One of Tim Curry's best performances, this whacking classic has us wanting to do the Time Warp on the regular.

When a young families home is visited by ghost, things begin to turn nasty when the ghosts begin to terrorize the family before kidnapping the youngest daughter.
The Omen (1976)
After adopting their son Damien when Robert found out his wife Katherine could not have children, strange and ominous events starts to occur which leads the family to believe that the child they adopted from the hospital is evil reincarnated.
The Hills Have Eyes (1977)
Another cult classic to add to this list, on their way to California, a family accidently goes through a testing range that isn't open to the public, the families car breaks down which leaves them stranded in the dessert. While searching for help, they are faced with a group of psychotic cannibal criminals.

Throughout the film, events soon escalate in a horrifying fashion sending chills down any viewers back.
Known as a phenomena to many, this Wes Craven film captivated many when it first hit theatres.

When Billy Harley is murdered by a group of bikers, his father seeks revenge and goes to a woman who claims she is a witch that soon conjures up a monstrous creature by the name of Pumpkinhead, who gets revenge on the biker gang for what they did to his son.
Paranormal Activity (2007)
When a young couple moves into a new home and starts experiencing paranormal activity throughout the night, they install camera's throughout the house which captures all the incidents, unforeseen occurrences and the evil that lives within the house.
Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
Being Johnny Depp's very first movie, this Wes Craven film showcases many teenagers falling into Freddy Kruger's trap, a disfigured killer who prey's on teenager's in their dreams. Which, after the horrific dream are over they turns into reality.
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
An oldie but a goodie, this horror/ sci-fi film follows seven individuals who are trapped in a farmhouse that is under attack from a large group of cannibalistic, undead corpse. Directed by George Romero, this horror classic brought movie theatres to life when it first released and reportingly had people walking out from pure discomfort while watching it.
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
While making their way home from Spring Break, a brother and sister witness a mystery person in the shadows dumping something down a tunnel. When the brother and sister duo stop to check out what they see, they find a disturbing amount of modified bodies and set out to find help, not knowing that the creature in the midst that did this is still on his killing spree.
If you're anything like me you have two opinions on this movie- clowns are terrifying and wow, Tim Curry is talented.

House On Haunted Hill (1959)
When millionaire Frederick Loren host a party for his wife at the House On The Haunted Hill, which is notorious for having seven murders happening within the house, things start to get weird.
This movie is centred around a murderous group from another dimension known as “Cenobites” that aren’t able to differentiate between pain and pleasure and are summoned by a puzzle box.
After a six year old brutally murders his older sister on Halloween night, he is admitted into a sanitarium, where he spends the next fifteen years. It’s not until he finds a way to escape and return to his hometown that he begins to stalk a young woman and murders countless people while his psychiatrist tries to hunt him down and save the unsuspecting town.
Get Out (2017)
When an African American man gets involved with a white woman and he meets her family, he comes to the realization that the family has dark secrets that could make death seem like a pleasant thought. Directed by comedian and actor, Jordan Peele, this movie hit audience in a different way when it arrived to theatres, making it one of the best horror films of 2017.

Friday The 13th (1980)
One of the most notable and iconic horror films of all time, when Camp Crystal is trying to reopen after being closed down because a young boy drowned and two gruesome murders occurred, the camp starts to experience counsellors and others disappearing with no explanation. Directed by Sean S. Cunningham, Friday the 13th has been turned into many movies, games and even some television series.
The Exorcist (1973)
I don't know about you, but all I envision right now looking at this image is a young girl crawling down the stairs backwards.
