Best movies to watch this halloween

Amityville Horror (1979) 

This American supernatural horror film is one for the books. Directed by Stuart Rosenberg and starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder. Newlyweds George and Kathy move into a new home with their three kids on the coast of Long Island without the knowledge that the house they moved in was part of a mass murder, within time the family starts to experience paranormal activity causing them to move away from their new home.

Trick R Treat (2007)

​A classic on it's own, a small town finds out what it's like to deal with real ghost and goblins on Halloween. The tales being told helps reveal the consequences the town will face if they blow out a jack-o-lantern before midnight arrives.

The Sixth Sense (1999) 

This film tells the tale of Cole Sear, a boy who is able to see and talk to dead people, that is when the family gets a psychologist to help the young boy out and comes to find out it isn't that simple.

The Shining (1980)

The Shining is considered to be one of the most significant films in history, from jump scares, to bloody scenes to "Here's Johnny", this is the perfect movie for this Halloween and every Halloween that is. 
When a family heads to a isolated hotel for the winter, a sinister influencer has a few things to show them before their stay is over. 

The Rocky Horror Picture Show(1975)

In this cult classic, lovebirds Brad and Janet profess their love for one another at their friends wedding. When their car breaks down on a rainy day, they seek shelter at a near by castle, which happens to be Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

One of Tim Curry's best performances, this whacking classic has us wanting to do the Time Warp on the regular.

This one sent fear all throughout my body. 
Directed by James Wan, this trilogy showcases investigators Lorraine and Ed being summoned to family of 5, that just recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence in the house had made itself known. Throughout the film, events soon escalate in a horrifying fashion sending chills down any viewers back.

Known as a phenomena to many, this Wes Craven film captivated many when it first hit theatres. 
When high school student Casey Becker receives a flirty call from an unknown stranger, they start discussion their favourite horror films not knowing she would soon be terrorized by a killer, who targets her and her friends by using horror films as a deadly game.

Being Johnny Depp's very first movie, this Wes Craven film showcases many teenagers falling into Freddy Kruger's trap, a disfigured killer who prey's on teenager's in their dreams. Which, after the horrific dream are over they turns into reality.

Night Of The Living Dead (1968)

An oldie but a goodie, this horror/ sci-fi film follows seven individuals who are trapped in a farmhouse that is under attack from a large group of cannibalistic, undead corpse. Directed by George Romero, this horror classic brought movie theatres to life when it first released and reportingly had people walking out from pure discomfort while watching it.

While making their way home from Spring Break, a brother and sister witness a mystery person in the shadows dumping something down a tunnel. When the brother and sister duo stop to check out what they see, they find a disturbing amount of modified bodies and set out to find help, not knowing that the creature in the midst that did this is still on his killing spree.

If you're anything like me you have two opinions on this movie- clowns are terrifying and wow, Tim Curry is talented. 

Here's to another Tim Curry film, in the 1960's,  seven teen outcast fight off a evil demon who is posing as a child killing clown. Thirty years later, they come back together to stop the child killing clown once and for all when it returns to their beloved hometown.

Cunningham, Friday the 13th has been turned into many movies, games and even some television series.

After realizing her 12 year old daughter is possessed by something extremely powerful and unknown, Evelyn does everything in her power to try and save her daughters soul before it's too late.
